I have always wanted to be a healer of minds and hearts. Through many trials, tribulations, and lots and lots of schooling later, I found my calling. As a clinical neuropsychologist specializing in Autism, I began my career providing neuropsychological and psychological testing, as well as therapy. However, several personal events in my life led to a shift in my professional goals. As I became more immersed in mindfulness at a personal level, I saw the benefits of this practice for ND (neurodivergent) children, as well as their caregivers, many of whom were also neurodivergent. I started training in different mindfulness programs but couldn’t find one which incorporated everything I liked so I decided to create my own and the Mindful Village® program was born. Currently, I'm working on a non-profit foundation to offer the program in communities with few resources.
In addition to this program, I also offer heartfulness coaching™ (mindfulness with heart!) and consultations for businesses interested in adding mindfulness or mindful-related services. The only psychological services I am currently providing are consultations and telehealth autism assessments for adult women/genderqueer/trans individuals. National Alliance of
I'm so happy to announce the creation of a national organization for psychologists who primarily do testing. The National Alliance of Testing Psychologists was formed for two main reasons: one was to have a community of professionals who could collaborate and refer clients to each other. The second reason was to have a public searchable database for potential clients to easily find a psychologist for their specific testing requirements (including PSYPACT status). NAOTP will also be actively marketed so its members get referrals. You can check it out by clicking on the logo or at www.naotp.org.
What is mindfulness? You may hear it a lot these days as being mindful has almost become a fad! For me, mindfulness is simply paying attention to the present moment with loving awareness. As you practice mindfulness in your daily activities, it will become routine. Research shows that people who make this a daily habit increase their levels of happiness and resilience, while decreasing stress and anxiety. I offer several different options for mindfulness trainings, including private groups, which are listed on the Services tab under Mindfulness.
